Asteria Aerospace is pleased to announce that its indigenously designed and developed micro drone, the A200, has received provisional certification from the DGCA and is now listed on DGCA’s Digital Sky portal.
This certifies that the A200 drone is fully compliant to all design and manufacturing standards laid down by the DGCA, including No Permission No Take-off (NPNT). This is a key milestone for Asteria as it allows the company’s products to be used for commercial applications under the new civil aviation regulations.
The A200 is a micro sized multirotor drone, less than 2kg in weight, with vertical take-off and landing. It features a hot swappable payload capability, with the ability to carry a HD video camera/ thermal camera/ high resolution imaging camera for a flight time of 20-25 minutes as required for the application.
All communications between the drone and the ground control station are secured via an AES-128-bit encrypted digital communication link, which carries both payload and flight telemetry data for a range up to 2km.
Asteria’s proprietary Mission Control software allows point-and-click command and control of the drone with an intuitive graphical user interface. The A200 also supports out-of-the-box integration with Asteria’s GenesisTM cloud platform which provides real-time flight operation management from any remote location.
All flight operations of the A200 drone are fully automated with single click take off, dynamic waypoint navigation with geofencing, and single click Return to Launch/Land. Integrated failsafe flight modes provide protection against low battery, loss of communication link, and loss of critical navigation sensors.
Quidich Innovation labs, who have a longstanding partnership with Asteria, purchased the A200 drone and obtained their first UIN registered in India for their use. The registration was done with another collaboration with Algopixel technologies, who aided in a smooth hassle-free registration process.
Asteria is proud to be one of its kind and continues to lead the way forward for the drone industry in India and build towards the vision of scalable, compliant drone operations in the civil airspace.
